YG and Kamaiyah have put their disagreements aside and resolved their long-standing feud.
The former collaborators officially reunited Wednesday night (February 2nd) during his YG’s Red His Cup tour at his arena in Kamaiyah’s hometown of Auckland.
4Hunnid honcho wowed the audience by inviting his former contractor as a special guest, and the two hugged and buried hatchets on stage.
“I swear to God I know nothing from what you know, what you’ve heard, or from the blogs you read,” YG said, standing next to Kamaiya. I love you. Come and hug me “
“I love you too,” Kamiya replied while hugging YG. “Bay to Los Angeles, damn it!”
The two then started performing their 2016 song “Fuck It Up,” much to the pleasure of the audience in the Bay Area.
Kamaiyah told The Shade Room, “They asked if I would come to Oakland, etc., and it worked out because I was heading home to get my hair braided for Grammy weekend.
YG and her reunited onstage, and she shared images and videos of it on Instagram with the description, “From the top the bottom Westside trash.”
Fans and peers alike responded favourably to her article, including Saweetie, BIA, Dreezy, and others.
Kamiyah was signed to YG’s 4Hunnid label alongside Interscope Records after the huge success of her debut project A Good Night in the Ghetto in 2016 but has been overwhelmed by how her career has been handled. Due to dissatisfaction, their relationship soon began to deteriorate.
“It couldn’t get any hotter at this point,” Kamiyah told HipHopDX in 2020 after leaving 4Hunnid. I felt like it was all about letting go of the record.
“I never had that opportunity, and that’s the part people don’t understand. They said, “Why aren’t you here? Why aren’t you here? N-gga, the label didn’t raise the money they were supposed to raise.”
She also revealed that she had not spoken to YG and that she was “reluctant” until he apologized.
“At the outset of my profession, my brother passed away. She said, “I felt like all these things were happening, and instead of him standing up for me and pushing for me to succeed, it looked like it was the exact opposite.
You would think that since she was a woman, he would say, “Okay, she’s got to succeed. She is going through this as I watch. I’ll see to it that she develops into the person she is meant to be.
Now an independent artist once again, Kamiyah has reignited his career over the past few years with several projects including Oakland Knights, Divine Time, and Keep It Lit.
But obstacles kept popping up. In September, the 30-year-old was arrested for gun possession at an airport in Burbank, Calif., when she was found with a gun loaded in her purse.
TSA agents also revealed a long-standing warrant for the rapper’s arrest, which stemmed from an alleged shooting in the movie screening room of her San Fernando Valley apartment complex in 2019.
Kamiyah was imprisoned in Burbank Jail, where she was released on $70,000 bail.
